Importance of Lighting
Create visual experiences
Experience is synonymous with the hospitality industry. Evoking senses and feeling through concept curation ensures customer retention, and in an ever-connected world, promotes customers to share with others. From the greeting at the front door of a grand hotel, to the rich aromas of a cosy café, to the showmanship of crafting a cocktail, each offers a portion of the overall experience.
Interior design and styling play a massive role in setting this scene. No less important in this than the choice of artwork on display or surface of the bar is the ambience created by lighting. Defining mood and influencing patron dining behaviour, lighting enhances the overall experience.

What to consider with Table Lighting?
Lighting Temperature
The colour/temperature of the light source can affect both atmosphere and perception. Think of a romantic dinner. The alluring luminance of candlelight is synonymous with atmospheric dining, though more operators are moving away from candles due to costs, safety, and environmental practice. Cooler colour temperatures (4000–6000K) create energy and alertness, as these tones trend towards daylight, and are often ideal for fresh food, such as salads and fish. As this temperature is made to mimic daylight, making the most of any natural light available is likely the ideal solution.
Warmer colour temperatures on the other hand (2000–3000K) create a cosy, intimate atmosphere that can stimulate appetite. Warmer tones are generally great for indulgent foods, including steaks and desserts. Temperatures around this range can be used throughout the day indoors, or both indoor or outdoor during the evening, and are the most widely used within hospitality settings.
Brightness
As with temperature, brightness can have an important impact on patron perception and the dining experience. Too bright and any mood within the venue disappears. Too dark and you risk not being able to see what is being served. Finding the right balance is harder than it sounds, especially when this may change throughout the day when incorporated with natural light. Choosing a solution that can adjust brightness throughout the day ensures the table or bar is well lit to fully enjoy the rest of the experience.
Location
Where you plan on utilising lighting may seem obvious, such as at the table or on the bar, but many make not consider the element of flexibility needed in service. Wired solutions become less viable where layouts need to be shifted, such as accommodating differing group sizes. Selecting a cordless solution that can freely move handles any such requirement with ease.
Another consideration of location is outdoor usage. Whilst most will require indoor solutions, those with outdoor space require extra protection from the elements. Choosing lighting with water resistance ensures the solution does not stop working at the first sight of rain, protecting your asset and customers.
Service Length
When considering a cordless solution, determining factors of viability are the duration of which the light source lasts, and how long it takes to reach full charge once used. After all, an evening seating may require a run time of 6 or 7 hours. Implementing a solution that allows lighting to be placed and left throughout the length of service means patrons from the start of the evening to the end of the night receive the same ambiance and experience, whilst quick charge times ensure all lights are ready for the next day.
